Can we sign you up as the GM? You have my vote, 100%. Could not say it better.

You would make a great GM...
Sigh... if everything you said happened, we would be a eastern powerhouse with *Cough John Wall Cough*-Iggy-Young-Speights/Brand-Dalembert Comment (1)
I would look for a young defensive minded ass. [D.Casey?] and would start Carney at the 3 and let Thad come off the bench but get 30 some minutes. Jason and Marreese would get steady minutes for development and in Jason!s case, trade value, if possible. I want Carney to get 20 minutes a night and see what he can do and yes, I offer L.Will. for cap relief also. Let Thad become our efficient scoring sixth man.

I would be thrilled with both this scenario or using Thad at the 3. I'd lean toward Carney because of his defense.
For coach, I'd want someone who has never had a shot at head coach. History shows that most of the championships have been won by a handful of coaches. The championship formula is superstar player(or players) AND a championship coach. Therefore a retread - someone who has been decent, but not outstanding - won't get us to the top. Just as we have to take a chance on a draft pick to be a star, we also have to take a chance on a young coach with potential. Popovich, Brown, Reilly and Jackson are probably not going to come to Philadelphia. Comment (1)
Great post. Can't really find much I don't agree with, and its all just common sense.
I guess I'm not that eager to move Lou, given that he is 23 and showed some positive signs before his injury. I would at least wait until we see who we end up with in the draft. Lou is a guy who can come off of the bench and take over a game or at least change its complexion. I think he's a good complement to Jrue. I also think he can be more effective given the right direction. There is a need for a bench scoring guard- especially when AI is gone. Lou fills this role and can play back-up PG. He may be fungible, but his replacement will not save them that much money. Comment (1)
I'm on board, Derek.
It was my impression that we have until the trade deadline next season to get under the lux tax, but it probably makes more sense to do it now...and Williams is the guy who makes the most sense. I really do think we need a coach with a strong vision of what he wants to accomplish, as well as a guy who will get the respect of the players (which seems to have been a problem on the roster lately)...I know that the Roberts boys and Snider are probably loathe to writhe a big check when they are still paying EFJ for two more years, but I would really like to see somebody like Collins made the coach. I know all about his team's "pace" and how that may not fit with the strengths of these guys, but I have a gut feeling that he would coach better offensive principles than somebody like JVG...he has coached athletic swing-guys in the past (Jordan, Hill, Pippen), so I think he would be good with Jrue/Iggy/Thad...his teams in CHI and DET each got MATERIALLY better defensively after he took over, and he would stress fundamentals and accountability - things that this team desperately needs. I wish the Sixers were like Notre Dame football, where the alums/boosters could write a check to help get rid of a coach. Comment (1)

But they are in a way, they spend an ungodly amount of money and fans have an unrealistic expectation of how well the team will perform. Comment (1)
Stefanski created the expectations when he made 3 signings during an offseason (including a 29 year old PF to a 5 year deal) that put us in this financial position.
Stefanski created the unrealistic expectation, the fans didn't. You don't think Stefanski had higher expectations than what the team has performed at these past 2 years? If he didn't, the signing made no sense. You don't make that kind of financial commitment (and limit yourself as much as we did financially) if you don't think the rewards are worth it. Comments (2)
We do have until the end of next year, but once this season ends, you have to find someone either with a trade exception or cap space. It's just going to get increasingly more difficult IMO.

I have a feeling that league GM's go through realgm to get a feel of the fan's reaction. You might laugh at me and call me silly but its funny that as soon as the fans disagree trading Igoudala and Sam for expirings then Ed called the trade off and wanted more value for Iguodala. For some reason I think your post above will happen (except for the cutting of AI3).

partly right,
#1fire eddie jorden, #2 I here Rick patino wants to come back into the nba, good coach with this team, defensive minded and aggresive on the ball, give him a chance to transforms the minds into believer of them selves, they can still make the playoffs, #3 starting five, c dalenbart, pf elton brand sf iggy sg willie green pg lous williams the main problem with the sixers is the coach, not the players, we have to much firepower on this team, you need a coach that will fight for you, ????? how many tecnicals does coach jordon have for the team this year,I make my point, its the nba. ps Ed I am available, I will straighten it out Comment (1)
