From Fagan: Young, guarding Allen, come over slightly towards Pierce's penetration as Allen flared to the corner. Young said he thought that Dalembert -- guarding Davis -- would switch onto Allen in the corner. Young said, for some reason, Dalembert (with whom I did not get a chance to speak) didn't make the switch. Young said when he saw this, he tried to recover to Allen but couldn't get there in time. Young called this a miscommunication. Young said that immediately after the game, a few of the Sixers watched the replay of the final sequence on the television in the locker room.

Interesting. I'm going to have to DVR the replay tonight and watching it a few dozen times tomorrow.

I thought that was a terrible comment by Young. He basically threw his teammate squarely under the bus. While he is not wrong, he shares some of the blame for the breakdown as well.
In the end, it doesn't matter much because this game simply serves as a reminder that the Sixers are just not that good. Comment (1)

Well, DiLeo made the same comment. Comments (3)
Difference being, DiLeo is the coach--not a 20-year old second-year playing.

Agreed.
But when I heard Thad speak about it, it didn't seem to me like he was trying to deflect blame. It just sounded to me like he was saying there was a breakdown in communication, not that either one was at fault. Comments (3)

A couple of days ago I admitted my man-love for the Boston Celtics. Now I have another secret to admit to. I don't particularly like Royal Ivey. When he got here I thought his defense was criminally overrated. More effort than results. a foul-prone Comment (1)
